Free malware check

Free malware scan for your website

The free Malware Quick Check inspects a small sample of your public page and its scripts for suspicious code, and shows exactly what it inspected. It runs for at most 45 seconds and needs no account. Because it is a small public sample, a clean result is not a clean bill of health: unchecked areas are never treated as clean. For a full assessment, create a free account.

  • No account needed
  • 45 second public sample
  • Shows what was inspected

Run the Malware Quick Check

Enter the address of a public page you own or have permission to check. The check looks at that one page and a small sample of its scripts, then stops after at most 45 seconds.

Quick-check results expire after 30 minutes and may reuse a result checked within the last 10 minutes. They are not automatically saved to an account. Sanitized target addresses and check activity are retained for 35 days for operations and the administrator daily summary. Addresses omit query strings and fragments; login details are not accepted. Advisory and network lookups may use public data services.

What the Malware Quick Check inspects

The quick check fetches the public page you enter and a small sample of the scripts it loads, including inline scripts, and looks for suspicious code. The result lists every page and script it checked, marks anything it could not fetch, and tells you how many script references fell outside the sample.

  • Inspect one public page and a bounded sample of its linked and inline scripts.
  • Show each item checked with its status, so you can see exactly what was covered.
  • Report suspicious indicators with a severity, a description and a recommendation.
  • Count the script references that were outside this sample.

Findings are indicators to investigate, not a confirmed infection count.

What it does not cover

  • Visitor scenarios and delayed behavior. Runtime observation belongs to the full website malware assessment, not to this quick check.
  • Server files and the database. A remote check cannot read them.
  • Other pages. It samples the one page you enter, not the whole site.
  • Blocked targets. ScanTitan domains and private or reserved addresses cannot be checked.

No remote scanner detects all malware, and unchecked areas are never treated as clean. Read the full website malware scan page to see what a complete assessment adds.

What a free account adds

Create a free account for one website to run the included website security scan, which is a full assessment and not this 45-second sample, and to get the basic malware and uptime monitoring that comes with the Free plan. Paid plans add repeat scans; compare them on the pricing page.

If the check finds something

  1. Copy the site files and the database before you change anything.
  2. Find how the attacker got in. Our guides on what to do when a website is hacked and finding a backdoor cover the hunt.
  3. Clean the infection and close the entry point, following how to remove malware from a website.
  4. Scan again after cleanup with the website malware scan to confirm.

To report a suspected infection or ask about cleanup, email [email protected] or see website malware removal.

Free malware scan questions

Is the malware scan free?

Yes. The Malware Quick Check is free and needs no account. You confirm that you own the target or have permission to check it.

How long does it take?

The check runs for at most 45 seconds and often finishes sooner.

Can it find all malware?

No. It inspects a small public sample of one page and its scripts. No remote scanner detects all malware, and unchecked areas are never treated as clean.

What does a clean result mean?

It means no suspicious indicators were found in the sample that was inspected. It is not a clean bill of health for the whole website.

What is the difference between this and the full malware scan?

The quick check is an anonymous 45-second sample of one public page. The full website malware scan is an account assessment with more coverage and repeat scans on paid plans.

Can I scan any website?

Only websites you own or have permission to check. ScanTitan domains and private or reserved addresses are blocked.
